DBD Anniversary 2024 Twisted Masquerade event, rewards, and more (2024)

When is the Dead by Daylight anniversary event 2024? Every year, to celebrate the original release date of the asymmetrical horror game, players are invited to a very twisted masquerade. This year is no different, and the annual DBD anniversary event is back this June.

During the Dead by Daylighteighth anniversary livestream, we received the news that we were all expecting: the Twisted Masquerade anniversary event would be returning to the horror game once again. In celebration of the game’s birthday, new daily login rewards and event cosmetics will be made available for a limited time for both Dead by Daylight killers and survivor mains, including for the three weeks prior to the DBD Twisted Masquerade.

DBD anniversary event release date

The Dead by Daylight 8th anniversary event begins on June 13, 2024. If previous events are anything to go by, the Twisted Masquerade should go live at at 8am PDT / 11am EDT/ 4pm BST.

For the weeks leading up to the event, there are loads of great bonuses in play, so you can jump into the game right now to benefit from anniversary bonuses based on the last eight years of Dead by Daylight. Until June 12, players have the chance to revisit maps, cosmetics, and more from previous years.

The main change this year is that the event mode is now a separate mode, so you can just play classic Dead by Daylight or the event by choosing your preferred option in the main menu.

DBD anniversary event details

Meet your host: Trix!

A new, non-playable character makes her debut as the host of the Twisted Masquerade this year, with exclusive voice lines narrating the event in the pre-match lobby and in-game. Trix herself also appears in matches, directing players in their objectives.

As the match wears on, Trix gets out her back of tricks (or treats) such as spawning new chests, giving players haste, and more. The more objectives you complete, the more Trix tricks you can experience.

Twisted Masquerade invites

Twisted Masquerade invitations are back this year. Previously, you needed to escape matches with invites to obtain cosmetic rewards, but Behaviour has done away with that mechanic this year to give you more of a chance of collecting all rewards.

The only use for an invitation this year is to grant specific effects in-game. Some of those effects allow you to interact different with survivors and killers depending on which side you’re on, but another new mechanic this year is survivor ‘quiet mode’. If you don’t want to purposely provoke a killer into a chase just to use your invitation, you can now simple use it to stay quiet and keep out of harm’s way. Killer’s, meanwhile, can use their invitation to send a downed survivor to a nearby hook, saving you time and the risk of being hit by Decisive Strike, Sabotage, or other such survivor actions.

Twisted Masquerade cosmetics and rewards

This year’s twisted masks and other cosmetic rewards are perhaps the best yet, and some licensed characters are even getting in on the action this year. Unlike previous events when you had to collect invitation in-game to earn masks, you now obtain them by completing challenges.

Here are the DBD characters with unlockable Twisted Masquerade masks this year:

  • Adam Francis
  • Det. David Tapp
  • Kate Denson
  • Renato Lyra
  • Thalita Lyra
  • Yun-Jin Lee
  • The Clown
  • The Doctor
  • The Hag
  • The Plague
  • The Skull Merchant
  • The Twins

Event tome

Speaking of new masks and outfits, there will again be a new event tome, filled with more personal and community challenges to complete for rewards like cosmetics and Bloodpoints. William “Bill” Overbeck and The Unknown have new unlockable outfits that can be obtained by participating in community challenges and working your way through the tome.

There’s so much going on in Dead by Daylight right now as we wait for this year’s DBD anniversary event.Behaviour’s eighth anniversary livestream wasn’t without other incredible announcements, so make sure you catch up on the latest news about the other games in the DBD universe Project T and The Casting of Frank Stone, as well as brand-new roguelite What the Fog, and check out what to expect from the Dungeons and Dragons chapter, arriving just before the event.
