The two-vehicle collision on East Lake Avenue claimed the life of a 17-year-old local resident

COOK COUNTY, IL – Authorities are investigating a crash late Sunday in Glenview that claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy and left three others injured, two critically, reports NBC Chicago.

The fatal crash in the 1200 block of East Lake Avenue, near Meadow Lane, shortly after 11:00 p.m. Glenview Police responded to the scene shortly after.

Officials said the teen, a local resident, was the driver of one of the two involved cars and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The other driver suffered injuries considered non-life-threatening and was transported to an area hospital. Two other people, a passenger from each of the vehicles, were also rushed to the hospital where they were listed in critical condition.

It’s unclear at this time what led up to the wreck, but photos taken at the scene show two severely damaged vehicles with their airbags deployed. The accident left debris scattered along the roadway and also caused a wooden fence to collapse.
