Commencement Weekend Updates:
A clear bag policy will be enforced during Commencement Weekend at the following venues: Pauley Pavilion, Royce Hall, Drake Stadium, LATC, Ackerman Grand Ballroom, and Intramural Field. Graduates are not allowed any large bags. Graduates may bring clear bags smaller than 4.5″ x 6.5.”
All bags are subject to inspection. Guests, graduates, faculty, and staff must go through a magnetometer check upon entering any venue.

- Due to a high traffic in our inbox and Message Center, please expect a response in three business days. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to respond to your questions. Please refer below to our FAQs:I missed the preference window for the College Commencement Ceremony. How do I order tickets?Beginning Friday, May 10 @ noon thru Friday, May 24 @ 11:59pm PST, you will be able to order tickets for all ceremonies you are eligible for via the Commencement Student Feature on MyUCLA. This includes the College Commencement ceremony. For the College Commencement ceremony you will be able to order tickets from the available time slots. While we cannot guarantee students’ first choice preferences are met, we can accommodate all students into one of our three ceremonies.Can I change my College Commencement time assignment?Students may do so on the Commencement Student Feature. Please note if you swap out of your originally assigned time, we may not be able to accommodate you back in that time if it reaches capacity. We do not recommend swapping unless your plans have been confirmed. You will be able to swap into any ceremony that still has available tickets.I ordered my ticket, but did not see a “submit” or “confirmation” page?Students are able to review their order via the Commencement Student Feature. We understand plans change, so we allow students to change their order up until Friday, May 24 @ 11:59pm PST. Your order that is listed on MyUCLA at that time will be shared with the College Commencement Office, your Department, and the Central Ticket Office.The queue kicked me out? Can you accommodate me?We recommend checking back on the Commencement Feature at a later time. Due to high traffic, we had to open a queue to accommodate every student. Please note students will be able to receive tickets for all ceremonies they are eligible to attend, as long as preferences are inputted by Friday, May 24 @ 11:59pm PST. Waitlist tickets are not guaranteed.When will I know if I receive my waitlist tickets?Waitlist tickets are not guaranteed. Each department releases their waitlist on Thursday, May 30, by the end of the day. Students will receive a MyUCLA notification.Are children free to attend?Children ages 2 and under are free and do not require a ticket if they can enjoy the entire ceremony on an adult’s lap. Otherwise, a ticket needs to be ordered for everyone sitting in a guest seat.Guest Accommodations?All venues are accessible to individuals with mobility assistance devices and have designated accessible seating areas. While all venues are accessible, the university is not able to provide transport or mobility assistance devices to guests to facilitate moving through the campus or getting to a venue.There are twolocations on campus (Gateway Plaza and the Dickson Plaza Flagpole) where guests can be dropped off curbside to potentially lessen travel time on campus. Due to space limitations, these guest drop-off areas should only be used when a guest has limited mobility. For ADA parking information, please visit the Transportation Office’s Commencement page.For guests needing ASL or audio interpretation accommodations, the graduate should contact the College, professional school, College department, or student organization organizing the ceremony on behalf of their guest(s) to initiate the request.What name is printed on my Diploma?Your diploma will automatically print your lived name, but you can request your legal name. To confirm which name will be printed and the spelling please visit the Diploma Request Form.
- Due to the campus events that took place last week, our committee has extended the deadline for the Student Speaker application. Please submit your application by Wednesday, May 8, 2024 @ 11:59pm PST.
- Winter ’24 degree recipients will appear as eligible for Commencement ’24 on Thursday, May 2, after their degrees officially post. At that time, you will be able to request your tickets for the College Commencement ceremony in Pauley until Sunday, May 5, at 11:59 p.m.Preferences are not on a first come first serve basis. While we work to accommodate each students’ first choice, we cannot guarantee their placement. If you are a Winter ’24 graduate and you still encounter issues in ranking your preferences on Sunday, May 5, please contact us via Message Center.Any inquiries that come in before Sunday, May 5, will be disregarded.
- Audition sign-ups to be our student singer at the UCLA College Commencement are now open! Please sign up via our MyUCLA Form here by Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 11:59pm PST.
- Our Student Speaker application is now open! Apply here via a MyUCLA form. Applications are due Friday, May 3, 2024 at 11:59pm PST. No late submissions will be accepted, no exceptions. Be sure to review all information on what should be included in your speech to be eligiblehere. Check back mid-April for information regarding Student Singer auditions.
- For information regarding applying to be the Student Speaker or Singer, please visit our “Student Speaker or Singer Information” page with all the information, here. Applications will open in early April 2024 and will close on Friday, May 3 @ 11:59pm PST.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
UCLA College Commencement and the College’s Academic Department Ceremonies are held from Friday, June 14 to Sunday, June 16, 2024. You will receive information about UCLA College Commencement inMyUCLA Notices. Please keep youremail addressup to date in MyUCLA; this is where your tickets will be delivered. Also, check your spam/junk folders frequently, so that you don’t miss the messages with links to receive the tickets you order.
All ceremonies are reserved for graduating students who are eligible to participate. You are eligible to participate in June Commencement events if:
- You completed all degree requirements and graduated in Fall 2023 or Winter 2024; or
- You are declared to graduate in Spring 2024 or Summer 2024.

Traffic Alert:During Commencement Weekend, traffic around campus will be very heavy. Graduates should make plans to be at the ceremony venue at the time indicated on your ticket. Guests should be prepared to arrive at the ceremony venue at least one hour before the ceremony starts, to be certain they are not delayed by traffic or parking issues.
